Marching with the Meullers

This morning at breakfast, the dirndled waitress approached my table with a phone in her hand saying, "For you."
.

So, that's a first.
.
Carmen was calling to make arrangements for a hike with the kids. We drove up behind the plant and hiked along the river there, past pools of crystal clear water and waterfalls. Leah is six years old and Benjamin turns three next week. They are simply delightful children! They wore their little hiking shoes and Benny has his own miniature rucksack. The trails were mostly safe (there were workers putting new rails and wire in as well as replacement bridges). We stopped a couple of times so the kids could play by the river. Benny got right to work, dragging wood twice his size to a pile and Leah built a stone pile. They are very cute together and Carmen is a super relaxed Mom.
.
Afterwards, we stopped for lunch downtown. Carmen ordered pommes frites for the table and I tried the hamburger.
It mostly looked like an American hamburger, but didn't taste much like one!
