Spectacular sunsets

I decided to take a walk into town after speaking with our Innkeeper Gabi. Reutte is charming little town with small businesses, little shops, and many cafes. I stopped into our favorite Italian ice cream shop "GelatOK!" for a cold drink as soon as I got there. Then I took myself in and out of many of the stores, aimless yet hopeful that something would jump out at me as worthy of coming home in my suitcase. No such luck.

.

I needed to be back by 12:30 to meet Steve at the hotel. Since I don't have international service on my phone, we have to make arrangements such as this in advance. I had a lovely walk back (about 25 minutes) with only my iPhone to document some of the sights.

.

Steve is still not feeling 100%. He said that when he met up with some colleagues, he was told that others have similar symptoms of fever, stomach and intestinal distress. Marcus is out for the week.

.

We drove downtown and stopped at a small cafe for soup and salad. He drove back to work and I walked to the hotel by way of a foot path along the canal. I felt like I was lost most of the way, but then came out to the field across the street from the Maximilian. There I reintroduced myself to the cows and horses I see every day.

.

We decided to drive to Gamasche in Germany for dinner. The ride over was spectacular and we were tempted to stop in one of the other little towns, but forged ahead to Gamasche. We parked the car (partly on the sidewalk to keep the road clear) and walked over to the pedestrian village. Steve got a text from Carrie and we called her from our table at the cafe. I got a few looks, reminding me that there was no one else using a cell phone in the restaurant (and making me the obnoxious American). As we finished our conversation, the sun was setting and casting the most magnificent colors ranging from orange to pink with spots of blue sky to dark purple storm clouds the opposite mountain range.

.

Quite spectacular!
