Boating to Bellagio

After breakfast overlooking the lake, we headed down to the village and caught the next ferry to Bellagio, located just south and west across the lake. The perspective of Varenna and our hotel was great from the boat! The weather is beautiful again, a bit overcast in the morning but sunny in the afternoon.

Bellagio is more upscale and full of tourists. Since we were dressed for the part, complete with sneakers, camera, and vaguely confused/enchanted faces, we went shopping. Had to.

Mid-day, we stopped for lunch at a pizzaria. Again, we are in Italy. We had to!

Each diner is expected to order his own pizza, but we ordered a pizza and a salad and split both, American style. We met a couple from Connecticut who were in Bellagio to attend the second weddding of a friend. The guy told me he went to college with a someone from Medfield. Small world!

We did a little more poking around back in Varrena and then hiked up the hill to the hotel to get ready for the afternoon.
