Ireland, Here We Come!

The first day is a long one! (Deja vu, anyone?)
.
We were in the air by 9:00 after being picked up at 5:00. Dan, Rich, Neil, Padraic and Maggie met us in Medfield, then we breezed into the city with two hours to kill so sat at a little restaurant for snacks or in some cases, dinner. The flight was smooth and fast, getting in about 15 minutes early at 7:50am in Dublin.
.
We took a shuttle to the Hertz rental lot where we met up with the New Yorkers and headed into the city. We all gathered together at T.P. Smith's with David, Dawn, Meara, and Julia. What a great reunion we had, feasting on bangers and mash and toasting our blessings with our first Guinness. Delish!
.
Steve and I headed straight along to Tipperary since the Russells had to meet with us by 4:30 in order to attend a local wedding. The castle is amazing! Teresa gave us a private tour and we found one room to be more beautiful than the other! It's just perfect for us with each room lovingly appointed with period furnishings and individual bathroom or ensuite. Just perfect!

We made a grocery store run for breakfast staples. The others arrived, picked their rooms, and unpacked. We had pizzas delivered to the castle (now there's a sentence I've never written, nay, thought, before!) which we enjoyed on the back patio. By the time we fell into our beds, we were at the end of an exhausting and exhilarating 36 hour day, happy and grateful to be safe on the old sod, surrounded by family.
